Rattray's Hal O' The Wynd Pipe Tobacco - 250g Bag

Rattray's Hal O' The Wynd is a Virginia based broken flake with some Kentucky fire-cured and a little Perique, which both add intrigue to the flavour profile and strength to the blend.

The texture of the leaf is quite loose for a broken flake, but more dense than a ready rubbed. Whether you rub it further or pack it as-is, it will burn relatively cool and long.

You can gauge the quality of the leaf too, by sight, smell and touch.

While your nose should detect the Virginia forwardness of the blend, with hay-like scents and mild citrus, you may be able to pick out the Kentucky's gentle smokiness and possibly the Perique's dark dried fruit.
