Peterson of Dublin Deluxe System Ebony 12.5s Briar Smoking Pipe - Small Bent Billiard

Peterson of Dublin Deluxe System Ebony 12.5s Briar Smoking Pipe - Small Bent Billiard

The 12.5 is a small Bent Billiard first listed in the Peterson catalogue of pipe shapes in 1896. Also known as a shape 68, compact and lightweight, it has been popular since introduction.

Fitted with the patented "System" to trap moisture and "P" lip, designed to avoid tongue bite,  the Deluxe version was first seen in 1937.

Only the finest grain briar is selected, a sterling silver spigot fitting, an enhanced version of a military fitting, is the preferred option for the stem, which normally has a "P" lip for authenticity.

This lightweight pipe sits beautifully in the hand, the smooth ebony finish bowl holds a decent amount of tobacco and should give a smoke of between 30-45 minutes depending on technique.

The silver fitment has the Peterson name stamped on the band, there is a "P" lip on the chunky black acrylic stem, and a "wear-gap" which helps identify the pipe as a Deluxe model.

This is not a filter pipe, it is sold boxed with a pipe bag and a small silver cloth for cleaning the band.
