Rattray's Marlin Flake Pipe Tobacco - 10g Sample

Rattray's Marlin Flake is a deep dark brown flake made from a blend of Black Cavendish, Perique and several types of Virginia tobaccos.

They are pressed, mellowed and cut uniformly. This tobacco could be Old Gowrie's darker, sweeter and milder counterpart, where Black Cavendish has been used in place of Kentucky.

They are certainly akin in quality and the processes involved in their creation. The flavours of Marlin Flake are tangy, sweet Virginia, mildly sugary Cavendish and plummy, figgy delicious Perique.

These flakes give a currant bun like, doughy taste, that's savoury and sweet.

Rubbing out the flakes is pleasurable and results in a fine crumb of short ribbon. It smokes cool and slow, with a smooth flavour throughout the bowl.
